Syllabus highlights

The arc of the cohort is designed so your final project reads like real platform work: a deployed environment, observable services, documented runbooks, and a credible story for how you would onboard the next engineer.

Modules

  • Linux, containers, and images—production-minded defaults
  • Kubernetes: workloads, networking, storage, and safe upgrades
  • Observability: metrics with Prometheus, dashboards and alerts in Grafana
  • GitOps-style delivery, environments, and change discipline
  • AWS project: deploy a realistic service footprint with monitoring and orchestration
  • Incident readiness: SLOs, runbooks, postmortems, and on-call hygiene

Why teams prefer cohort-shaped skills

Hiring managers scan for judgment under constraints—not badge counts. This table is the difference we engineer into the experience.

Outcomes we design toward

  • Explain trade-offs when choosing Kubernetes primitives for a workload.
  • Instrument a service and tune alerts someone could actually wake up for.
  • Walk through a safe deploy and rollback story on AWS with evidence.
  • Sound credible in behavioral and system-design style conversations.

Platform Engineering FAQ

Technical, financial, and family questions—answered without the fluff.

Do I need AWS experience before day one?
Comfort with a terminal and basic networking ideas helps. We ramp you into AWS with guardrails so you are not billing surprises in the dark—but expect to spend focused time outside class on labs.
Will I get hands-on Kubernetes or mostly slides?
Hands-on. You should expect clusters, broken things to fix, metrics to interpret, and a final project you can screen-share in an interview the same way you would on a team.
Is 300,000 XAF all-inclusive?
Tuition covers instruction, cohort access, and the curriculum for that intake. Cloud provider fees for personal labs are separate and kept modest by design; we tell you typical monthly ranges before you start.
Can parents or sponsors pay on behalf of a student?
Yes. Put the learner’s name in the email, CC the payer if you like, and we will align invoices and onboarding to whatever arrangement is lawful and practical for your family.
